South Beach Salmon Lemon Sauce Recipe

This oven-baked salmon is topped with a simple creamy lemon sauce, made with fat-free sour cream. The sauce will become your secret weapon for seafood recipes. It’s great with any fish, scallops, crab cakes, and all kinds of seafood. It is easy to make and brings a lot of great flavors.
A Creamy Salmon Lemon Sauce
This is a South Beach knockoff of lemon beurre blanc sauce. Beurre Blanc sauce is traditionally a butter sauce flavored with white wine, shallots, lemon juice, and/or vinegar.

Making beurre blanc sauces can be tricky if they aren’t done right. But using sour cream makes it much more forgiving. It keeps the sauce from separating and makes it easy to reheat if you have leftovers.
As with any cream or butter-based sauce, you should always cook over low heat. Stir it often, just until it is hot and ready. Same with this Salmon Lemon Sauce. And it’s a Creamy Lemon Sauce.

The South Beach Diet

South Beach Diet is named after the South Beach section of Miami. It is a modified low-carb diet. It is lower in carbs and higher in protein and healthy fats than your typical eating plan. But it’s not a strict low-carb diet.
The South Beach Diet was created in 2003 by cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatston, M.D. South Beach preaches that it is a healthy way of eating, whether you want to lose weight or not. South Beach aims to alter the overall balance of the foods you eat. This change encourages weight loss and promotes a healthy lifestyle. (https://www.southbeachdiet.com/how-it-works/index.jsp)
Exercise
South Beach recommends exercise as an important part of healthy living. They say that regular exercise will boost your metabolism and help prevent weight-loss plateaus. Without exercise, it seems to derail other low-carb diets.
Diet details
South Beach combines complex carbs, lean protein, and healthy fats. Complex carbs, also known as “good carbs,” include whole grains, fruit, beans, vegetables, and legumes. It is a fiber-rich diet that you can follow for a “lifetime of healthy eating”. Simple carbs, or “bad” carbs, include sugar, syrup, and baked goods made from refined white flour.

The simplistic view is to cut out the “White Food.” This includes processed sugar, white bread, white flour, and pasta, among others. Processed food – BAD. Fresh fruit, lean protein & veggies – GOOD.
