Easy Feijoada – Feijoada is a traditional Brazilian black bean stew. Today, I am making a special recipe request from my trainer, Renata. Renata works for a company that is in my building here in Milwaukee. It is a gym /Physical Therapy /Training company, and Renata is one of the trainers. #feijoada #braziliancuisine
She is Brazilian and asked if I could make an easy version of feijoada, which is the Brazilian national dish. It is a black bean and pork stew, a true comfort food recipe. Traditional feijoada can take 2-3 hours to make.

Since this is Cooking Secrets for Men, I wanted to come up with this recipe for a very quick feijoada. This easy recipe can be ready in 30 minutes or less. It can be a tasty, easy weeknight recipe to put on the table with minimal effort.
Brazilian Feijoada is a stew that Brazilians often serve topped with farofa, and toasted cassava flour. Many call this comfort food the national dish of Brazil.

This easy feijoada recipe is the perfect combination of comfort and flavor. With the combination of black beans and pork over white rice, it’s a tasty dish.
Feijoada gets its name from its main ingredient, black beans (feijão). It is a rich stew traditionally made from different parts of the pig, such as feet, ears, and bacon, as well as other smoked meats.

For simplicity and expediency, we use smoked pork sausage in this Easy Feijoada recipe.
History of Feijoada
Some historians say that African slaves created feijoada (pronounced fay-jwa-da). After feasts given by the slave owners, the slaves would pick up the leftovers and mix them with black beans, making a stew.

This new dish they served with farofa (fried cassava flour with bacon) and orange slices. Some other historians say that a similar dish was devised in Portugal, where its main ingredients were white or red beans and pork. Whichever the story is, feijoada is a symbol of Brazilian culture. It is an iconic Brazilian dish.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need for this simple feijoada recipe. One of the best parts of this is that except maybe the meat, you probably have all of these things in your pantry.
