Cook the rice according to package directions.
Heat a large pot over medium heat.
Add olive oil and heat.
Add the bacon and sauté until crispy, about 4 minutes.
Saute the onions, garlic and green peppers
Put the smoked pork sausage in and sauté
Add the black beans and cook for 1 more minute.
Add the chicken broth, garlic powder, bay leaves, oregano, and salt.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low.
Simmer for 15 minutes or until desired thickness.
Don’t forget to remove the Bay Leaves
Serve hot over rice.
