Antipasto/Antipasti/Antipasta
Antipasto – In Italian, Anti means before, and Pasto means a meal. So, Antipasto is “before the meal”. It is the singular version.
The plural of Antipasto is Antipasti. Most Italian words that end in “I” are plural.
If you say “antipasta” – what you are saying is that you are against pizza. There is no such word in the Italian language.
Farfalle is plural for Butterfly. Farfalla is singular, meaning “Butterfly”. Bow Tie Pasta in Italian is “Pasta con papillon”. Italians use the term “farfalle” for this pasta shape, not any derivation of “Bow Tie Pasta.”
Why are Pasta chips so popular?

Pasta chips are essentially pasta noodles that undergo a magical transformation.
- The Crunchy Texture: Pasta chips are baked to get a crispy texture, satisfying some snack cravings.
- They are versatile: They come in various flavors, allowing for a lot of options for different taste preferences.
- Unique Shapes: Some pasta chips are cut into unique shapes (like butterflies). They are visually appealing when compared to potato chips.
- Pairs Well with Sauces: The nature of baked pasta chips makes them great for dipping into various sauces, such as pesto or marinara.
- Innovative Flavors: You can experiment with lots of different flavors, which gives a wide selection to choose from.

Pasta Chip Ingredients
- Pasta, Choose Your Pasta: Opt for short pasta shapes like farfalle, penne, campanelle, rigatoni, or cavatappi. These work well for dipping.
- Olive oil is the best oil to use
- Italian herbs and spices: Sprinkle with garlic powder and red pepper flakes for flavor. Feel free to get creative with other seasonings like Italian herbs or your favorite spice blend.
- Parmesan cheese for a little added salty flavor
- Crushed Red Pepper flakes are always a good ingredient, but not too much, however.
- Enjoy your homemade pasta chips – a delightful twist on traditional snacking! 🍝🌟
