You can make a very simple homemade salad dressing (also called Vinaigrette) with ingredients in your home pantry. All you need is Olive Oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. These ingredients do not need to be refrigerated. Once you make the homemade salad dressing, it can be kept with oil & vinegar.
Homemade vinaigrettes are much better than store-bought. They are easy to make. Store-bought salad dressings contain things like Nanoparticles, Genetically Modified Ingredients, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Trans Fats, and or MSG.
This recipe makes enough to lightly dress a salad for four. Please read the entire post for other variations.
Directions for Homemade Salad Dressing (or Vinaigrette)
- Use a 3 to 1 ratio of Olive oil versus vinegar to make the dressing.
- You can use balsamic, red wine, apple cider, or sherry vinegar.
- The dressing should be stored in a glass jar with a tight lid.
