McDonald's Egg Cheese Biscuits

McDonald’s Egg Cheese Biscuits – Sausage, fluffy eggs, and cheese stuffed inside of a biscuit are the perfect morning pick-me-up. Going to McDonald’s and picking one up is always convenient, but it’s much more delicious when you make it at home yourself.

For years, when my now 20-something boys were in grade school. I would struggle with what to serve them for breakfast. Cereal every day doesn’t cut it, and sweets (French Toast, Pop-Tarts, doughnuts, etc) may be the worst thing to give them before school. Blood sugar would drop and school naps were a result.

Why Make McDonald’s Egg Cheese Biscuits at home?

Making McDonald’s sausage egg biscuits at home offers several advantages over buying them from the fast-food chain:

  1. Healthier Ingredients: When you make them at home, you have control over the quality of the ingredients. You can choose leaner sausage, use organic eggs, and opt for whole-grain biscuits to make a healthier version.
  2. Customization: You can customize your homemade biscuits to suit your taste preferences. Add extra cheese, vegetables, or spices to create a personalized breakfast sandwich.
  3. Cost Savings: Making breakfast at home is generally more cost-effective than regularly buying meals from a fast-food restaurant. You can buy ingredients in bulk, saving money in the long run.
  4. Portion Control: Fast food portions can be quite large and may contribute to overeating. When you make sausage egg biscuits at home, you can control the portion sizes to better suit your dietary needs.
  5. Freshness: Homemade biscuits are likely to be fresher than fast-food alternatives. You can bake or cook them right before serving, ensuring a warm and fresh breakfast experience.
  6. Avoiding Additives and Preservatives: Homemade meals generally have fewer additives and preservatives compared to fast food. This can be particularly important for individuals with dietary restrictions or those who prefer a more natural diet.
  7. Cooking Experience: Making breakfast from scratch can be a fun and rewarding cooking experience. It allows you to hone your culinary skills and experiment with different flavors and techniques.
  8. Allergen Control: If you or someone in your household has food allergies or sensitivities, making your own sausage egg biscuits allows you to control the ingredients, minimizing the risk of allergen exposure.
  9. Meal Prep and Convenience: You can make a batch of biscuits and cook the sausage and eggs ahead of time, allowing for quick assembly during busy mornings. This can provide the convenience of fast food without sacrificing quality.

Couldn’t agree more! Cold cereal is such a scam … you might as well eat candy. And as you say, pop tarts and the like are flat=out absurd. One of the nice things about these biscuits, is that I’ll bet you could make them in advance, and microwave them during the week!
