Calling all Food Bloggers
I would like to invite all of us Food Bloggers to collaborate in the future. Combining efforts with a fellow blogger (or two) is a good opportunity to grow your site organically.
I have had the recent opportunity to communicate with several bloggers around the world. The result has been fascinating. Here is a recent post I had on my blog and YouTube channel, featuring a recipe from fellow blogger Tom in the UK (TjrMint.com) – https://cookingsecretsformen.com/2020/11/19/best-yorkshire-pudding-recipe/
Tom subsequently put my info on his blog. We originally met online and decided to have a zoom call to discuss ways we could work together. We’ve since become friends and boosters of each other’s work. We have traded ideas and best practices for blogging. Tom has given me several ideas and I have “borrowed” some of them (like an e-cookbook and a download page on my blog)
Blogger Collaboration Outreach
I’ve had similar outreach with other bloggers and I’m looking forward to working together online with others. I think many of us are in the same place: wanting to grow our brand, but facing growth limitations. “Likes”, comments and thumbs up are nice, but how do you move from 100’s of subscribers to 1000’s of subscribers?
Blogger collaboration is great when brands and blogs work together to create and publish content. It can come in the form of blog posts, YouTube videos, interviews, or product reviews, but the goal is always the same: to increase brand exposure and possibly even boost revenue for the bloggers (if that is a primary goal).
Why Collaborate?
The reason to collaborate is to open new, complimentary markets and get your brand in front of potential subscribers and/or customers. The collaboration will increase your brand reach as you’re talking to two sets of customers rather than one and gives a signal from one brand that the other brand can be trusted.
I think there are so many ways to work together and build brand exposure.
Collaboration: How we can work together
One of the best ways we can easily collaborate with one another is to be commenting and engaging on each other’s blog posts. Lots of us do that occasionally. This would be a case where more is better. Then we can support one another by commenting, sharing, and promoting each other on an ongoing basis.
Invite guest blogger/contributor –The obvious thing is that you add more content that you didn’t have to write yourself. And the contributors share with their networks and could ask you to write for them, opening up new markets for you. it can be a great way to grow your SEO ranking because backlinks increase the value of your blog to search engines, especially Google.
Guest Posting
Guest posting is one of the most common ways bloggers collaborate with one another. If you’re welcoming a blogger to guest post on your site, you’re opening the door for your readers to read about something fresh, new, and exciting. If you’re guest posting on another blogger’s site, it can be a great way to grow your SEO ranking because backlinks help grow the “value” of your blog to search engines. And guest posting also opens you up to some new potential readers to your site. It’s a win/win for both bloggers involved in the collaboration!
So, that’s my big idea for the week. So many of you have been friendly and kind to me (and other bloggers). Let’s do something with that friendliness and common interests. I think we are all pretty accessible online in some form or manner. Most of us have multiple Social Media locations. Pick one and let’s start a dialogue. The worst thing that will happen is that you make a new friend. And just maybe you will find someone to collaborate with within our shared passion.
Look forward to getting to know some of you better!
